She often draws on themes of death, loss and belonging as inspiration for both her writing and visual art. She published her first chapbook, ‘Cemetery Music’, with Nightingale and Sparrow in 2019. Charis is a writer from Leicestershire, England. Her work has previously been published in the anthology, Chemistry, as part of the Creative Future Literary Awards. Her love of travel has taken her around the world, but she’s currently finding inspiration back in her hometown, where she now lives, writes and spends as much time outdoors as possible.

Leah Gonzalez is an emerging writer from San Jose. In 2015, she moved to Los Angeles to pursue television writing. After three years of working as a production assistant, she moved to Spain to teach English. She currently lives in Huércal-Overa in the province of Almería, meeting other queer women, traveling through Europe, and, of course, writing. Her journalism has appeared in Santa Clara Magazine and she has worked on shows such as “Grey’s Anatomy,” “Shades of Blue,” “Jane the Virgin,” and “The Chi.”

Carol Alena Aronoff, Ph.D. is a psychologist, teacher and poet. Her work has appeared in numerous journals and anthologies and has won several prizes. She was twice nominated for a Pushcart Prize. She has published a chapbook (Cornsilk) and 4 books of her poems and photographs: The Nature of Music, Cornsilk, Her Soup Made the Moon Weep, Blessings From an Unseen World as well as Dreaming Earth’s Body (with artist Betsie Miller-Kusz). Currently, she resides in rural Hawaii.
